Kilcrease, Whitesboro run past Pilot Point

The Pilot Point Bearcats couldn’t stop Whitesboro’s Collins Kilcrease or from shooting themselves in the foot Friday night.
Kilcreaseran for 216 yards and scored four touchdowns, including one on a 67-yard fumble return in Whitesboro’s 46-34 victory over Pilot Point at Massey Stadium.
Whitesboro scored three non-offensive touchdowns, including Clayton Stringer’s 40-yard kickoff return at the final whistle. Pilot Point also helped Whitesboro with 16 penalties for 140 yards.
“We made enough mistakes for a season much less a game,” said Pilot Point coach Rob Best. “Turnovers resulted in two touchdowns.
“Whitesboro is a heck of a football team. You play people like this you can’t give them anything and we gave them a bunch.”
With the victory Whitesboro retained its spot atop District 5-2A Division I at 4-0. Pilot Point (6-3) fell to 3-2 with one game remaining next week at Bowie.
It will likely need a win to guarantee a playoff spot out of the tightly packed district.
“Playoffs start one week early for us. We have to go play Bowie and see what unfolds.”
Pilot Point’s Tristan Jurecka ran for 198 yards and two scores in the loss.
