Pilot Point rallies past Sanger, 14-7

Tristan Jurecka powered the Pilot Point Bearcats with his legs Friday night. His hands saved the game late in the fourth quarter.
The junior running corralled a fumbled pitch on a third-and-15 and rumbled 14 yards to keep the Bearcats’ game-winning drive alive.
Pilot Point quarterback Travis Garrett scored two plays later to complete a 97-yard drive and lift the Bearcats to a 14-7 win over the Sanger Indians at Massey Stadium.
“It was a bunch of luck,” Jurecka said. “It was not a great pitch and not a great handle on my part — just a bunch of luck. I think I maybe got two fingers on it. I knew we were down, time was low and I needed to make a play.
Jureckafinished with 123 yards on 17 carries, but he was happier about the win and the turn-around from last year’s blow-out loss to Sanger.
