Cats start off with a bang

By David Hausman

Pilot Point head coach Rob Best said the Bearcats would return to the 2009 playbook this season, and the result was almost 400 yards of offense in a season opening win over Bonham Friday night.

The 38-12 victory at Bonham was the first in a season opener since 2009.

After falling behind early, the Bearcats stormed back with five unanswered touchdowns and overcame a hoast of mistakes to pull away from the Purple Warriors.

"A win is a win is a win," said Best. "We showed we are a young team. We are talented, but young."
