Bearcats pay for mistakes in loss

Celina owned a two-touchdown lead before Pilot Point could catch it's breath and took advantage of every mistake the Bearcats made in a 43-12 victory at Massey Stadium Friday night.
The Bearcats failed to get into the end zone until Justin Gray scored on a four-yard run with 4:10 left in the game. The Bearcats' offense showed some punch in the first half but couldn't get much going in the final two periods after quarterback Aaron Buckingham went out with a shoulder injury.
After Celina scored on it's first two possessions to go up 14-0, the Bearcats' offense got untracked. Buckingham hit wide receiver Ricky Campbell with a 36 yard pass at the Celina 45, then ran the ball to the 26. The drive stalled there, but Ruben Martinez got the Bearcats on the board with a 45-yard field goal.
