Bearcats get first district win

Pilot Point has counted on Mason Guthrie and Ruben Martinez plenty of times before. Last Friday, the two came through once again, this time for the Bearcats' first district win to keep the Cats' playoff hopes alive.
Pilot Point trumped Aubrey 17-7 at massey Stadium, treating fans to a home win almost a month after the win at home against Boyd.
Martinez kicked a 36-yarder as the game expired to put Pilot Point ahead by 10 points. The Bearcats figured out a win of nine points or more would keep them on top if the season ends in a 3-way tie for third place.
