Sanger slides past Bearcats

Sanger took a lead in its now-budding rivalry with Pilot Point, winning 35-28 at Massey Stadium on Friday night.
but unlike Pilot Point's last loss to Sanger in 2008, this one will keep stinging for the remainder of the season.
Pilot Point got off to a 0-1 start in District 9-3A with the loss, and its 33-year record of consecutive winnings could be in jeopardy. The Bearcats fell to 2-4 on the season with four games left.
Sanger left the night 1-0 in district and with its undefeated record still intact at 6-0.
The game had the makings of a shootout with the area's top two passers meeting up, but it only took three plays and two minutes for Sanger to put Pilot Point in the hot seat for the rest of the night.
On the first play of the night, Sanger wide receiver Nathan Rotter turned a small pass into a 72-yard touchdown after quarterback Dane Evans found him in single coverage along the left sideline.
Evans and Rotter did the same thing again on Sanger's third play of the night after the defense forced Pilot Point to punt. Rotter turned another quick toss into a 73-yard score to put the Indians up 14-0
