Warriors run over cats

It was a familiar sight at Massey Stadium Friday night as the ground game pounded the defense, but the team that took the pounding wasn't so familiar.
Pilot Point lost its season and home opener, 50-35, to the Liberty Christian Warriors from Argyle. The loss was the first for the Bearcats since the Class 2A state semifinals in 2008, snapping a 15-game winning streak.
It was also Pilot Point's first home loss since 2007, when Frisco Wakeland thumped the Bearcats during November of that year.
Pilot Point debuted its new spread offense behind senior quarterback Jeshua Price and stilled gained 413 yards on offense, including more than 300 by air. But miscues ans mistakes kept the Bearcats from developing any kind of rhythm and helped the Warriors run up the score.
