The Pilot Point Bearcats survived a shootout in Springtown Friday night, taking a 59-42 victory over the Boyd Yellowjackets in the first round of the playoffs.
Both teams combined for over 1,000 yards of offense, 14 touchdowns, 48 first downs, and 101 points in the Class 2A Division I bi-district game at Springtown.
"It was track meet out there," said Pilot Point coach Blake Feldt after the game.
Pilot Point's Jarman Johnson rushed for a school record 383 yards and six touchdowns. His effort also gave him the single season rushing record for Pilot Point; he entered the game needing 205 yards to tie Keith Johnson's 1985 rushing record of 2,056 yards.
