Bearcats bounce back to beat Boyd

By Richard Greene

The Pilot point Bearcats kept history from repeating itself last Thursday night.

Ten years after capturing their last district crown and being bounced in the first round of the playoffs, this year's league-champion Bearcats trailed by 9 to the Boyd Yellowjackets with just under 10 minutes left. The Bearcats then scored two touchdowns, made a key defensive stop and recovered a short kickoff to escape with a 32-28 win at Northwest ISD Stadium in Justin.

Pilot Point booked a trip to the 2A Division I Region II quarterfinals and a date with Gunter with the win.

"I couldn't have been prouder of how our kids kept fighting in the second half," said Pilot Point coach Blake Feldt, who picked up his third playoff win with the Bearcats.
