Pilot Point holds off Pottsboro in loop opener

It was a simple statement, one coming from an old coaching cliche', but it held true for the Pilot Point Bearcats in their key District 10-2A opener last Friday night at Massey Stadium.
Before the game, Pilot Point coach Blake Feldt said the battle between the Bearcats and the Pottsboro Cardinals would come down to turnovers.
'It came down to mistakes," Feldt said. "We didn't have any turnovers, and they had a couple of big turnovers that we were able to respond to. We made fewer mistakes than they did, and we won."
The Bearcats knocked off the previously unbeaten Cardinals, 33-27, to open district play at 1-0 and improve to 4-1 for the year. Pottsboro dropped to 0-1 in league play and 5-1 overall.
