The Pilot point bearcats used big plays and a bend-but-don't-break defense to defeat the Childress Bobcats, 41-14, in Iowa Park Friday night.
Childress controlled the ball for much of the game, running 30 more plays than the Bearcats. Childress also led in time of possession, holding the ball for almost 10 more minutes than Pilot point.
But the Bearcats led in big plays, which was the difference.
"I am proud of our team," Pilot Point head coach Blake Feldt said after the game. "They beat a great 2A team with a lot of tradition like us."
The Bearcats improved to 3-1 on the season going into their bye week. The offense got back on track after scoring only once in a 7-6 loss to Sanger the previous week.
