The Pilot Point Bearcats amassed more than 500 yards of total offense and scored nearly at-will in a 49-21 cakewalk over the Van Alstyne Panthers last Friday in Van Alstyne. The win only served to muddle the district playoff race as the Bearcats, Celina and Whitesboro separated from the pack at 2-0 in District 9-3A.
While Whitesboro a team looking for its first playoff berth since 1936 plays at winless Princetonthis week, Pilot Point and Celina square off this week .Both 1-1 teams Prosper and Frisco Wakeland play each other, which means by the end of the night Friday, District 9-3A will be even more muddled with potentially two unbeatens and two more with only one loss all vying for three playoff spots.
